Clinic Program

Grade 1 & 2 Only

Clinic Program

Your child's basketball journey starts here!  Our basketball clinics are designed to introduce the game of basketball to our youngest athletes.    These young athletes will begin to dribble, shoot, & pass - all on hoops of appropriate height to ensure they develop proper form along the way.

The clinics focus on foundational skills in a fun environment and progress towards small scrimmages over the course of the program.

General timeline and information:

  • Clinics for Grade 1 & 2 students are held on Saturday mornings.
  • The program consists of 10 sessions.  Each session is approximately 1 hour long.
  • There are no teams at this level.  All athletes (boys & girls) are grouped together, by grade-level.
  • Clinics are typically held at Thomas Jefferson Middle School (TJMS).
  • Equipment needed:
    • Every child should bring their own basketball (size 5).
    • Every child must be wearing sneakers to participate.
    • Every child should bring a water bottle.
  • Parents MUST remain on-site during the clinic.
  • Timeline:
    • September/October - registration window is open.  (Note: registration will close earlier if capacity is reached.)
    • November - parents will receive an email regarding time / date for the first clinic.

Rec Teams

Grades 3 thru 8

Rec Teams

ETYB offers rec basketball for students in grades 3 thru high school.  Skill levels will vary amongst players as they develop skills, knowledge, awareness and experience playing organized basketball.  Teams (up to 10 players per team) are formed, games are played with referees, and include playoffs.  Games and practices are led by volunteer coaches, and the league strives to find competitive balance across the teams.

Skills & Drills Program

Skill Development Program

Skills & Drills Program

These are separate from the traditional winter season (happens in the fall & spring), but these skills sessions are intended to provide our athletes an opportunity to work on foundational skills and increase their knowledge and understanding of basketball. These may be led by ETYB volunteer coaches, or partnering with coaches from the middle/high schools.

These are scheduled as gym space and coaches are available, and are a separate fee from the Clinic, Rec, or Travel registrations.
